Shenanigans in a Magical Forest
SEPIECHRITUDE is a PLOT-ACTIVATED ABILITY. Your POWER is supposed to max out at 72 until you reach YASORA's final SPELL CARD!
DYING always results in all BULLETS getting cleared away. You are now down to 9 LIVES remaining!

I knew it... This game plays for keeps.
I also laughed at the bemused look on Marisa's face just before she went *BOOMIES*.

Hang on. Wasn't the lives remaining haxed to 9? Why do we have only have 3 lives left instead of 8?
I can see why the game caught and corrected the currently supposed to be capped power (capped due to scripted events, not a hard global cap). But how could it correct lives? The only way it could do that is to keep two working copies of the life count (and other stats), and try to figure out which copy is uncompromised, or the hard cap for lives remaining is 4.

@Myrrh
Sorry, but I do not see Rule of Cool (No tvtropes link because I don't want to be bothered to come up with a funny variation of the disclaimer) as a valid excuse to ignore a plot hole/mistake/oversight. Yes, rule of cool can help me enjoy the story despite the plot hole, but the plot hole bugs me nonetheless.
