Touhou Nekokayou: Scarlet Weather Archive in Japanese Red #100d

First Previous Random Next Latest

Characters: Reimu Hakurei, Marisa Kirisame, Rin Satsuki, Meimu, Keine Kamishirasawa, Yuka Kazami, Yukari Yakumo

東方再想天則 〜 Rethinking the Natural Law (Touhou 12.3i) begins here, and ends HERE! Longest comic yet at 60 panels. As I've said before, when I break records, I smithereen 'em!

Oh, right, Meimu's weather. Um, it is called Time Storm, and works a lot like Snow (getting hit or blocking drains card-energy), except that instead of losing a card, you regain a card that was previously-used (multiple cards, if a Spell Card was used) in reverse-order of when you used them, as well as undoing damage done to the enemy or abilities changed/upgrated where applicable. New music: "Broken History ~ Time Paradox." If you lose against Meimu in any context, or against Yukari, Meimu, or Rin as either of the other two, or against yourself in Arcade/Versus: instead of the regular continue-screen, you get a Metal Gear Solid 3-type "TIME PARADOX" screen.

No, you didn't miss anything. I haven't detailed Reimu, Marisa, and Rin's battle with Dracula, nor what the kerfluff he was doing in Gensokyo. But I guess getting hit by a sphere of annihilation is a good enough reason not to debut in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, huh?

I wasn't sure exactly how powerful Rin should be, but I was inspired to specifying her as resolutely below Yukari both before and after their as-yet-unrevealed history happened by CopyCatZero. He knows why and how. ;P

The award for "most memory-intensive panel in create.swf" goes to panel #24, and "most complicated effects rendered entirely in create.swf with no photoshopping." It's probably ... Ah, nope, it is not the biggest filesize for an individual panel, that goes to panel 4 of #20, since that was sorta based on a Jpeg (I think), but it's still ousted the previous second place.

This is probably the first time I've depicted the Outside World in this comic. Apart from Huntress, of course. I'm rather pleased with the "civilian attire" I gave Meimu and Rin (which are respectively recolors of "Red Dress" and Kogasa's outfit).

I was originally going to put Sakuya's "fatal exception error" joke in the confrontation with the Getsu sisters, but I ended up not having a place for it. Feel free to use the mondo slasher smile (put it at the same scale as your characters), and give credit, at least until KirbyM puts it into create.swf (though I notice that kind of thing hasn't been done lately without specific requests) ...

Um, we seem to have wandered off from Hisou Tensoku a lot ... I may have to do something about this! (Warning, link leads to TVTropes. Muffin will not be held responsible for hours of time lost as a result of following it.But see also this disclaimer)

And if you're wondering why Old Reimu didn't mention Kon Yakumo in #48? Look again!

All Touhou characters are © Team Shanghai Alice and/or ZUN; create.swf is ⑨ KirbyM with help from Thefre. "Sakura petals" brush in main/4koma logo was made by Kisara Girl. "Falling leaves" brush in 60-Years logo came with Photoshop.

OMG! What's the bloody hell with Sakuya? She's scary!
'just hope Remi will never see her like that, or it will be "charisma break" immediatly.

I was â‘¥ enough to actually try finding that Sakuya mouth in create.swf.

And for some reason, I have this weird theory you're actually gonna redraw every create.swf character to suit your likings.

Psh, if I could draw at all (beyond simple things like That Mouth), I wouldn't be using create.swf!

Personally i think create.swf works very well fits touhou artistically very well, and think a more detailed style wouldn't work as well considering your writing.
