Touhou Nekokayou: Scarlet Weather Archive in Japanese Red #75

First Previous Random Next Latest

Characters: Koishi Komeiji, Flandre Scarlet, Cirno, Mima

Story begins here.

Nightness background, would kinda like credit, etc. (The shuffled poles are just rearrangements of the "Onbashiras (night)" background.)

  1. (Flandre (cat-eared), Koishi (cat-eared), and Cirno fly through the night sky with the moon overhead.)
Koishi: We're almost at the top of the mountain ...
    Flandre: Incoming enemy fairies!
    Cirno: Finally, some *real* action!
  2. (They fly among the onbashiras surrounding the Moriya Shrine. Koishi unleashes a thick, dense swarm of heart-danmaku on the alarmed fairies surrounding her, poofing away some of them; Flandre is visible just off-panel behind her.)
    Koishi: HAAAAAAAAAA!!
    SFX: poof
  3. (Flandre unleashes a thick, dense swarm of more different danmaku on the alarmed fairies surrounding her. Cirno is visible just off-panel behind her and Koishi is ahead of her.)
    Flandre: (red text) GRAAAHHHHH!!!!
    SFX: poof
  4. (Cirno unleashes a thin swarm of ice-danmaku at the unconcerned fairies surrounding her in greater numbers. Flandre is visible just off-panel ahead of her.)
    Cirno: RAWR.
  5. (They all get knocked around a bit by a huge blast from Flandre and Koishi.)
  6. (The background flashes to white.)
    Cirno: (alarmed) Wha!?
Flandre: (startled) Where'd the background go!?
Koishi: Oh -- I've heard about this happening, it's a background change, it's usually right before a boss. ZUN does it when he can't figure out how to transition it any other way.
  7. (The background starts to fade into view at that epic background of the mountain and the torii arch.)
    Flandre: Ah ... I see ...
    Cirno: (aside) ... but ZUN isn't ...
    Koishi: Yeah, there it goes!
  8. (The background is fully faded in. Koishi opens her Third Eye.)
Flandre: So, where's this boss gonna be? I dunno her from your description ...
    Cirno: Me neither.
Koishi: Riiiight in front of us! C'mon, show yourself! Don't be shy!
    SFX: eye open!
  9. (Said boss begins power-up-vortexing into view in front of them.)
???: Nice guess there, Komeiji ...
  10. (Closeup as it turns out to be ... Mima!)
Mima: ... it's too bad the shrine maiden and the witch aren't here to see it!
    Koishi: (off-panel) Wait, what?

All Touhou characters are © Team Shanghai Alice and/or ZUN; create.swf is ⑨ KirbyM with help from Thefre. "Sakura petals" brush in main/4koma logo was made by Kisara Girl. "Falling leaves" brush in 60-Years logo came with Photoshop.

Obligatory GASP!

I have to agree with Koishi here.

Looks suspiciously like censorship, though.

Dramatic entry =0!!

So, did one of the hints I miss involve discrediting earlier hints, or is KimekoMuffin screwing with us/has been screwing with us this whole time?

Dammit, you can't trust anything that isn't red. D:

So my obligatory "it must be MIMAZ!" guess was right?

I call shenanigans.

Mima might be a co-conspirator... or just someone who knows who the real culprit is, and is enjoying the chance to lead incident-hunters off the trail.

Or Muffin's trolling us. :D

Mima is the incident culprit? More like Stage 6 Midboss.

Dizzy H. Muffin

Dang, only one person seems to have noticed the URL, and it wasn't even on here.

I noticed the URL, I've just yet to get that much use out of it. It didn't find the ZOMGUNFINDABLE hidden clue, or unscramble those eggs LAST HIDDEN CLUE. Nor does it explain why Mima can be the culprit when that contradicts the first hidden clue.

Unless UFO DOES count for that clue. Since we all know Mima's gonna be the last boss.

I wanna fight a boss being able to play as the strongest characters!!!

Hahahahaha, God bless the randomness, now you owe me a buck.

I haven't actually tried to find any clue/hint, my guessings were all based on random thoughts and the comments.

My guess is Muffin was stalling and trying to wait for someone to figure out the clue from the previous strip, and this one is just another "look, Mima" tease.

In which case, if my last comment on last strip wasn't clear, I did find it, and even spoiled how many letters were in each word of the solved hint. (Sorta...I made typing sounds.)

As for the hidden URL, it doesn't seem to do any-wait

Never mind, I found it.
What happened to the color?

Dizzy H. Muffin

Oh, I used a slightly quicker technique than the one described. It's really not a "lossless" technique no matter what ...
