Characters: Sikieiki Yamaxanadu, Tenshi Hinanai
Transcript
- (Close-up of Sikieiki's face against a sketchy pink background.)
Sikieiki: Your karma is a mess! - (Zoom out. Sikieiki continues to lecture against a blue background.)
Sikieiki: Half your time on Earth has been spent engaging in the deadly sin of sloth! For most of the rest, you've been known for disrupting the lives of others, purely for the sake of disrution!
Sikieiki: In fact, you have never done *anything* productive in your entire time on Earth! And no, causing incidents does *not* count! - (Sikieiki leans forward, murder in her eyes, as flames spring up behind her.)
Sikieiki: Even though your heart has no blackness in and of itself, you still commit these misdeeds! There can only be one fate for those who commit such transgressions! - (An exasperated Sikieiki and a smug Tenshi are standing by some trees.)
Tenshi: That's nice, but I'm a Celestial.
Sikieiki: I know!
Tenshi: Well, see, I mean I've already gotten into Heaven.
Sikieiki: Then could you at least *act* like it!?
1For that matter, does Hell have anything in particular they do to the inmates who happen to be masochists? Do they get the usual punishments, except that their "body" is numb so they can't feel any of it? Do they get an "ironic hell" which merely plays off the sins they committed? Or are they forced to spend the rest of their eternity with demons being incessantly nice to them? ... Actually, come to think of it, that last one sounds like it would ultimately be pretty torturous for anyone ...

A hell for masochists....LOLS! I don't know about that one man XD Normally i'd think that it would be so painful that they CAN'T enjoy it. but i guess that numb part would fit there or somthing XD no idea hahah.

This is probably my favorite comic so far.
Seeing Sikieiki get all worked up to have tenshi go "Yup, but i got my eternal reward." is funny. And i feel for sikieiki, must be maddening to see everything in perfect black and white and no one else can.

Heh, yeah ... That kind of thing happens when you get a position purely through nepotism. Even/especially if that position is "a Celestial in heaven."

...Is it just me or is Shiki's coloring a tad bit... dull compared to normal art? o.o And when I think about it, would Shiki have the *authority* to lecture a celestial? I mean they're all high and might n'all... Meh. Dunno XP
Morgan
I'm not sure, but I think there might have been a route where Shiki pretty much came out and said "I have no authority over you, but I'll lecture you anyway." `.`
Also, I'd totally watch Cowboy Bebop in the style of Lucky Star.

You know.
Thay is a new (and better looking) KirbyM Body for Sikieiki Yamaxanadu.
Just so you know.

Komachi's story mode dialogue in SWR brings up some very interesting points regarding Celestials and how they often have to fight various shinigamis who try to take them out of heaven.
Shikaze
Funnily enough, I thought she was talking about/with Yakumo before we see she was talking with Tenshi.

Have you read what Yukari says about the Yama? She said that her, Reimu, and Yuyuko TOGETHER would be hard pressed to beat the Yama.

@Wolf
its been a while since I read it so I might not be remembering correctly, but I think it was in the prose story segment from Yukari's POV where she was explaining the logistics behind the sixty year cycle and why it happens in the first place (and her own faltering memory because of being so old and having gone through so many things).
its on the Touhou wiki, somewhere (I don't even remember how I found it originally, actually, I just found it in my bookmarks one day).

I think he meant that the segment of the story was from Yukari's point of view, not from Phantasmagoria of Flower View.

You know she COULD lose a fight to a shinigami, or get bound and gaged/dragged to an entrance to hell while on earth and simply not escape. I'm also pretty sure every masochist has a cut-off point. Yeah, getting spanked is kinky, but your skin peeled off with molten lava poured over it? Mmmmm, not-so-much. Assuming they don't just tap into your neurons and pain-sensors and say 'go nuts.'
I figured this kind of thing would be the most likely result of an encounter between these two. (Unless you wanted to buy into the "Tenshi is a masochist" meme, in which case she'd gleefully try seeing what Hell has to offer ...)1
The main problem with this kind of three-panels-of-seemingly-serious-setup is that you can't really use create.swf to do anything that looks serious. I mean, you probably could if you tried, but you really shouldn't. It would be like making Cowboy Bebop or Death Note entirely the style of Lucky Star. The "chibi Hidamari Sketch" style KirbyM went with simply doesn't lend itself well to seriousness, or even pretend-seriousness (like in this comic). As a result, the third panel, with its "hellfire and burnination" in the background, looks even sillier than it would once you saw the punchline. On the other hand, I suppose it wouldn't fool anyone anyway, or at least not enough people to make it worth it, so it really probably doesn't matter.
