Touhou Nekokayou: Scarlet Weather Archive in Japanese Red #155

First Previous Random Next Latest

Characters: Reimu Hakurei, Sanae Kochiya, Marisa Kirisame

Delays were caused by much the same thing as they were last tme. So anyway, in this comic, Marisa weighs in on a controversial topic in the Outside World! To wit: this kind of thing is basically the entire reason why those "YOU WOULDN'T STEAL A CAR, WOULD YOU!?" messages are useless and stupid. Also, I thought I should actually remember that Reimu and Sanae are dating each other this time.

I didn't really have anything in mind for the story Sanae was telling Reimu, apart from the fact that she's referencing Daily Flash characters. Just, y'know, filler to show that they exist outside of reacting to Marisa barging in. I also pondered giving them both "civilian attire" (seeing as how neither of them is actually operating as a shrine maiden at the moment), but I figured, y'know, 1. it'd be funnier to have them in their full uniforms, and 2. anything else would be, y'know, work.

Marisa's "HI" in the first panel is inspired by one of the Mystery Science Theater 3000 riffs of The Brain Head That Wouldn't Die; I'm not entirely convinced I could explain this in a way that would really do it justice, so, uh, all I can recommend is that you should watch it yourself. I couldn't find it when I looked it up on Youtube. I don't even know why I brought it up here in the first place! ARRGHHH!

  1. (Reimu and Sanae are hanging around in a field when Marisa flies over on her broom.)
Reimu: Okay, is that some kind of outside-world thing ...?
Sanae: Don't worry, it's not *that* important to the story. Anyway, then I told Mumei ...
    Marisa: HI
  2. (Reimu turns to Marisa in annoyance. Sanae is somewhat taken aback.)
Reimu: Do I interrupt your dates with Alice?
Marisa: (sweatdrop) Whoops, aheh, okay, I'll be goin' now!
Sanae: Uh ... yeah ... Weren't you gonna be on your computer all day?
  3. (Marisa prepares to take off, while Reimu gets an annoyed pouty look.)
Marisa: Oh, nah, I actually got tired of piratin' movies and music and games an' stuff.
Sanae: Oh, pretending to go on the straight and narrow? Or were you actually going to start watching and listening to them all?
    Reimu's Thoughts: Don't laugh don't laugh don't laugh ...
  4. (Marisa is now hovering.)
Marisa: (cat-faced) Nah, clickin' a link just isn't as fun as breakin' and enterin' ...
    Reimu: (grinning uncontrollably) GO HOME!

All Touhou characters are © Team Shanghai Alice and/or ZUN; create.swf is ⑨ KirbyM with help from Thefre. "Sakura petals" brush in main/4koma logo was made by Kisara Girl. "Falling leaves" brush in 60-Years logo came with Photoshop.

Marisa, you may be a kleptomaniac.

@Bocaj May be? Even in the games' canon she may be one.

Formica Archonis

Odd, I saw that MST3K a few months ago and I can't recall the joke. About when is it in the movie? (Is it during the speed-dating for victims segment? That part wasn't holding my attention well.)

Oh, and if you give a time reference make sure it matches to the upload that's not on Youtube, thanks.:)

Hunter 1

...Yeah, I can actually see Marisa saying/doing this in canon, actually...

I belive Patchy is fine with Marisa's fun with computers... untill Marisa finds a way to pirate her books through magic/internet

That's an interesting notion. Patchy should get Marisa a kindle or something.

Also, Marisa is now #3 on my list of Touhou characters who're totally pirates.

A chicken passeth by

Frankly, Patchy is more afraid of her spells getting pirated. She personally won't mind Marisa running off with her *physical books*, and I suspect that the resident mages would actually be glad if Marisa can actually just dupe their stuff rather than than outright swipe it from their libraries. As Marisa says, tho, that takes the breaking and entering part (i.e the FUN part) out of the entire deal. <_<

Spirit Tsunami

Yeah, Marisa totally would find a way to steal Patchy's books through the internet. Somehow.

Satsuki Rin

Being that she knows a number of people who could help in that, I would not be surprised.

Personally, I could imagine her going out of a computer screen in Patchouli's home, snatching a few books, and getting out before anyone realizes that they're missing...

Great, now I'm stuck imagining Marisa with Crow's voice. It fits unsettlingly well.

Henix Aurorus

"Do I interrupt your dates with Alice?"

Oh Reimu. XD

Protip: That one's a moot point, Marisa would interrupt no matter what anyway.

Marisa: Books? feck this, i got internetz 8D
