Eientei, Gensokyo
11 October 2009, 1:12 AM JST

There was a flicker of pearlescent light as the Lunar Veil descended to Earth. It looked a lot like a shooting star, but if you were a youkai who was paying attention, you'd notice that it had the wrong color and shape.

Then Reisen landed on Earth, and pretty much hit the ground running.

She ran through the bamboo forest as fast as she could; there was an envelope tucked under one arm. It hadn't changed much; but then, it had only been a couple of years since the last time she'd come here. She reached the front door of Eientei and began frantically knocking.

Shortly thereafter, the sliding door was opened by Tewi. "Rumia, did you beat up the — oh, hi, you're that Lunar Envoy," she said.

"I ... have a letter for ... Eirin Yagokoro," gasped Reisen.

"Okay, give it to me and I'll deliver it to her," said Tewi, radiating the sort of innocence that no one would believe.

"N-no, it has to be in person," said Reisen, frowning.

"What's going on here?" said Eirin as she approached. "Oh — you have a letter?"

Reisen nodded, handing the envelope to Eirin. "It's, it's a letter from the Watatsukis," she said, panting.

Eirin frowned, regarding her for a moment, and then nodded. "All right, you can come in," she said. "You can stay here for a moment in case I need to send a response." She didn't need, er, her own genius to tell that it was going to be something pretty damn important.

She sat in one of the side-chambers, and slit open the envelope with a letter-opener. A ghostly number 1 appeared and floated up into the air. Good. She was the first person to open the letter; it hadn't been tampered with.

She read the letter.

Her brow creased.

Then she read it again, to make sure she hadn't somehow been wildly mistaken.

She facepalmed. "Idiots," she muttered. "Not again ..."

Bwahaha, that's brilliant. Yeah, the Lunar Capital is not going to be happy about that one. I never even connected "Nasa blows up the moon" with anything Touhou, so am I a fool or are you just a genius? Both, I guess?

Yuyuko

Short, but sweet. I always find your fan fiction more interesting than your comics...

Dizzy H. Slightly Voided

Oh, the idea's been floating around here and there. I just sort of jumped on it. ;)

Facteur Rien

Please, don't say anything about Eirin's father, I want to keep this idea for my future fanfic.

for a moment, I thought we were looking into the future, whew.

Hee, that was pretty good, and clever! This makes me wonder, did you make anything for the other project? I remember many images of Kaguya landing on the moon some months ago

Dizzy H. Slightly Voided

Nah, I didn't really hear anything about that. This, on the other hand, was made less than a month after I released the first Curse of the Heavens, so ...

universalperson

A pity this is just part of Makai's plan to open vacation centers.

sRc

@universalperson

moon vacation centers, eh? The Future is Now!

well if the 2002 Time Machine movie has any indication of whats to come, the Lunarians have until like 2036 before we end up blowing up the moon. they wouldn't have to worry about humans after that, though

Dan-Heron

@sRc

ah, don't worry, they all are gonna crash at Eientei when that happens. They all become second class citizens, though, and probably Tenshi will send an earthquake in their direction. You know, to see what happens.

sRc

@Dan

well, possibly. or it could go the way Cant Fix The Helmet's "False Bamboo Sprout in the Miso Soup EXtend" does which seems to indicate that Gensokyo got destroyed along with the rest of the Earth's surface, and all that was left was Moukou and Eirin (and that the Eloi seem to have descended from Moukou)

Dizzy H. Slightly Voided

... Whut?

just me thinking too much again.

go watch the 2002 Time Machine and then read the EXtend http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Can%27t_Fix_the_Helmet

Houraiguy

Why does this sound suspiciously like a setup for NASA to start attaching nukes to their recon satellites?

This spells Fallout 3.

Only Russia gets replaced by the Moon, and the Moon has danmaku... Wait, I wanna see what the Experimental MIRV does with bullet hell <:DD

BigB

*chuckles* aah America, when will you learn not to stick your nose in other countries/Lunar Empires faces for science?
