2010/11/01: And The Next Day ...

My building was built as an Old People Home, so each room has an "I've Fallen And I Can't Get Up" alarm on a pull-cord.

Four hours of sleep:

I've Fallen And I Can't Get Up Alarm: RIIIIIIIIIIING CONTINUOUSLY FOR THE FIFTEEN MINUTES IT TOOK FOR THEM TO SEND SOMEONE IN TO DEAL WITH IT

Also, I decided to do some Productive Things (checking mail, handing in my rent) in the meantime, and when I got back here to start typing this up it started ringing agaaaaaaaain. I suspect someone has a cat, for which pull-cords = Things To Play With. (Wouldn't be the first time, either ...)

Lovely, and I thought my apartment having the "door close" and "alarm" buttons right next to each other in the elevator was bad.:(

Yay retrofitting?

Could it be condensation or rainwater? I know everytime it rains, the fire alarm at the medical clinic I work at goes off. Korean labor wasn't up on all these fancy "standards" and "quality wiring" things back in the 70s.

Nah, it seemed to get switched off easily enough once someone actually got there. It's still partly an Old Peoples' Home, technically, it's just the place where I could afford to live. And there's regular inspections to make sure stuff does work.
