2009/11/24: ALREADY chaos and contusions!

Okay, I have made an important discovery: As You Know (Warning, link leads to TVTropes. Muffin will not be held responsible for hours of time lost as a result of following it.But see also this disclaimer), the loaner-bike I got yesterday is that racing-kind with the curved handlebars, so it has two sets of brake-handles, one on each curve curve, and one in a position so that you can hold them horizontally like *real* handlebars. I have discovered that the brakes on the horizontal part aren't as ... firm as on the curved kind.

I discovered this when I came up to a sort of blind side-road, tried to come to a stop more quickly than I actually could, and very nearly collided with a car driven by a a little old lady who was hard of hearing, who then proceeded to partly run over my front wheel without realizing this at first. The front wheel is now slightly bent to the side -- I was still capable of riding it home, and it didn't even wobble, and the tire is still perfectly fine, but it is still bent about an inch out of perfectly-vertical. Arrgghhh.

Wow, so sorry, Muffin. I hope you get that fixed ASAP. That'd bug me to no end.

Are you (a) diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder, (b) obsessive-compulsive at all, or (c) just a regular person?

I'm (b), so that's why this would be a huge problem to me and I'd make a big deal out of it.

(d) none of the above, I'm just generally nuts. |3

Your anti-bike theft program seems to have gotten off to a great start! [/yesbutonthebrightside]
